Our Mission
Hearts Behind the Heroes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and supporting our nation’s veterans through community-driven care and compassion. With the support of Pinellas County and beyond, we provide Thanksgiving meals to recently homed veterans and their families, while also stepping in during times of urgent need. In 2024, with the community’s help, we raised $17,500—serving over 400 veterans and their loved ones, and providing direct relief to those impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Our mission is to grow that impact each year, increasing the number of veterans and families we serve, ensuring that no hero feels forgotten, and that every veteran has a community standing behind them.
What We Do
At Hearts Behind the Heroes, we bring the community together each Veterans Day to raise the funds needed to provide Thanksgiving meals for more than 1,000 recently housed veterans and their families. What started as a single annual fundraiser has become a heartfelt tradition of gratitude and support—ensuring that those who served our country can celebrate the holiday with dignity, comfort, and connection.
